Job summary

SFC Chicagoland LLC dba Sticky Fingers Cooking is hiring a part-time After School Children's Cooking Instructor in the Chicago area. You will lead hour-long cooking classes for children ages 3-12 at various school sites, teaching basic kitchen skills and culinary concepts.

You will plan engaging lessons, prepare ingredients, and partner with our team to deliver safe, hands-on nutrition education with a fun, kid-friendly approach.

Qualifications

• Availability at least 2 days a week to teach (2-5pm window; many sessions 3:00–4:30pm)
• Commitment to teaching weekly for 6–12 weeks
• Experience working with groups of kids of varying ages
• Ability to manage and engage 8–14 children from diverse backgrounds
• Access to reliable transportation
• Ability to communicate with the team in a timely manner
• Punctual and reliable
• No professional cooking experience required
• ServSafe Certification (can obtain before teaching)

Responsibilities

• Lead hour-long enrichment cooking classes on-site at various locations.
• Create recipes weekly and teach kids about new ingredients and healthy foods.
• Review class curricula and shop independently for fresh ingredients before instruction.
• Provide direction and encouragement to inspire kids to try new recipes.
