Job summary

Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in Portland, OR. Lead engaging, kid-friendly chess lessons after school, typically from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at local schools.

You will teach 10–15 elementary students using our structured curriculum, foster a positive classroom environment, and model good sportsmanship. We provide full training, ongoing support, and opportunities for advancement; mileage is reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Experience with groups of children in educational settings.
• Ability to explain chess basics to kids age 6-12.
• Reliable transportation to multiple school sites.
• Available weekday afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10-15 students.
• Teach fundamentals and sportsmanship using structured curriculum.
• Supervise classrooms, ensure safety and engagement.
• Travel to local school sites for sessions.
• Arrive prepared and on time.
