Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. in Renton, WA is looking for enthusiastic instructors to lead after-school chess classes for elementary students. You will use a structured curriculum, promote good sportsmanship, and create a fun, positive classroom environment.

You can teach 1 to 5 classes weekly, typically between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, with mileage reimbursement for travel between local school sites. Training is provided, and there are opportunities for advancement and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, friendly sessions.
• Professional, positive demeanor with kids.
• Strong desire to model good sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Follow our curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Travel to local school sites for each session.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
