Job summary

Catapult Learning is hiring an Assistant Teacher for after-school programming in Passaic, NJ. The role supports classroom operations, student engagement, and supervision during the after-care window from 2:15 PM to 5:30 PM.

The position emphasizes safety, inclusive practices, and collaboration with staff, families, and site leadership. Part-time schedule may include additional seasonal duties and meetings.

Qualifications

• Associates in Childcare or CDA.
• Pediatric/CPR First Aid Certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Support child engagement, classroom organization, and daily program activities.
• Provide consistent supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes pro-social behavior and student engagement.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, and staff.
• Implement behavior management strategies aligned with program philosophy.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and family information.
• Participate in required staff meetings, training, and school events.
• Complete a minimum of 12 hours of annual professional development, including required orientation training.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations outlined in the New Jersey Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support program.
