Job summary

Catapult Learning, a division of FullBloom, invites applications for an Assistant Teacher in West New York, NJ. This part-time role supports a before- and after-school program, promoting safe, structured environments and positive student engagement.

The position requires a High School Diploma (Para Pro preferred) with a focus on supervision, classroom organization, and effective communication with families and staff. Hours include before care and after care aligned with program hours.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the listed education qualifications.
• Para Pro certificate preferred.
• Pediatric/CPR First Aid certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Support child engagement, classroom organization, and daily program activities.
• Provide consistent supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes pro-social behavior and student engagement.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, and staff.
• Implement behavior management strategies aligned with program philosophy.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and family information.
• Participate in required staff meetings, training, and school events.
• Complete a minimum of 12 hours of annual professional development, including required orientation training.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations outlined in the New Jersey Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers.
