Job summary

SEO is seeking a Part-Time Advisory CurriculumWriter in New York, NY. The role designs and refines advisory curriculum for grades 9–12, supporting student development and college/career readiness.

You’ll help hire instructors, observe lessons, and provide effective feedback, working with the Advisory CurriculumDevelopment team. The position is 15–20 hours per week, hybrid (1 day in SEO office at 55 Exchange Place).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with high school-aged students (teaching, advising, counseling, mentoring, or program coordination).
  • Strong background in student-centered and culturally responsive pedagogy, SEL, college and career readiness instruction.
  • Experience coaching teachers or providing instructional resources is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and refine Advisory curriculum for grades 9–12 across settings; create lesson plans, classwork, assessments, and resources.
  • Collaborate with Teaching & Learning team to observe demo lessons, hire instructors, and provide feedback.
  • Conduct instructor observations during Saturday/Summer Academy and act as substitute teacher as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to analyze data and ensure coherence across programs.
