Job summary

Hillsborough Community College is seeking a Part-Time Professional Academic Writing Tutor at the Dale Mabry Campus Academic Success Center in Tampa. The role focuses on strengthening students’ writing, critical thinking, and independent learning through 1:1 and small-group sessions, both in person and online.

You will help develop workshops, participate in professional development, and contribute materials while upholding ASC standards for high-quality tutoring and documentation of sessions.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; two years of related work experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree with extensive writing experience.
• Experience tutoring in writing and academic skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate 1:1 tutoring sessions in person and online.
• Enhance writing, research strategies, and source integration.
• Guide grammar and citation styles (MLA, APA, Chicago).
• Design and lead writing workshops and materials.
• Maintain session records in scheduling software.

Compensation Range:$14.42 - $15.37Position Summary:Hiring compensation range: $14.42 to $15.37 depending on qualifications.Job Summary:The Part Time Professional Academic Writing Tutor provides high-quality academic support to a diverse student population at the Dale Mabry Campus Academic Success Center. This role focuses on enhancing students' written communication skills, critical thinking, and independent learning. The tutor conducts individual and small group learning sessions both in-person and online.
