Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of MN is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a part-time, on-site role in Red Wing, MN. You will support individuals with identified needs through person-centered care and help with daily activities.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with a potential raise to $17.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $2000 hiring bonus is offered to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required.
• Comfort with basic computer use for documentation and staying connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene, meals, household tasks, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people’s rights, needs, and preferences.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Support up to 4 residents in a group home setting with identified needs.

• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $17.50/hr!

What You’ll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs
