Job summary

Cape Fear Community College seeks a full-time Adult High School instructor to deliver engaging classroom and laboratory instruction for adult learners. The role requires adapting lessons to North Carolina standards and assisting students in developing employability and college prep skills.

The incumbent will prepare plans, assessments, and supportive materials, maintain records, and ensure policy alignment with CFCC guidelines. A two-year path to certification may be pursued post-hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university with the ability to pursue teaching certification or adult education credential within two years of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in Adult Education from a regionally accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students
• Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities
• Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade and record scores
• Provide classroom demonstrations on equipment and machinery; develop laboratory assignments
• Maintain accurate attendance and performance records
• Maintain and submit required paperwork accurately and timely
• Oversee implementation of policies related to teaching area as per CFCC guidelines
• Assess relevancy of lessons and recommend improvements
• Oversee field studies and travel with students as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
