Job summary

Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia is looking for a compassionate Part-Time Activities Aide to plan and run engaging programs for residents. You will help create meaningful experiences that enhance residents' daily lives in a skilled nursing setting.

You will lead group activities, provide one-on-one engagement, and help maintain calendars and materials while ensuring safety, dignity, and inclusivity for residents with varying abilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior care, or related field preferred.
• Experience with older adults in skilled nursing or long-term care is a plus.
• Friendly, patient, creative, and enthusiastic personality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to assist with activity setup and perform the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational and social activities for residents.
• Lead and support group activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, and holiday celebrations.
• Encourage resident participation in activities based on individual interests, abilities, and preferences.
• Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who may be unable or prefer not to participate in group activities.
• Assist with preparing activity materials, setting up spaces, and cleaning up after programs.
• Help create a welcoming, stimulating environment for residents.
• Support special events, birthday celebrations, and seasonal programs.
• Encourage social interaction and help reduce feelings of isolation among residents.
• Communicate residents' interests, participation, and concerns to the Activities Director.
• Assist with maintaining activity calendars, attendance records, and related documentation.
• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines.
• Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.
