Job summary

Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Activities Aide to join our team. You will plan and lead engaging recreational activities for residents, focusing on enhancing quality of life and social interaction.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, is creative and reliable, and can adapt activities for varying abilities. You will collaborate with staff to create a welcoming, stimulating environment and support special events and celebrations.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities, recreation, senior care, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with older adults or in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting is a plus.
• Friendly, patient, creative, and enthusiastic personality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to assist with activity setup and perform physical duties, with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational and social activities for residents.
• Lead and support group activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, and holiday celebrations.
• Encourage resident participation based on individual interests and abilities.
• Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who may not participate in groups.
• Prepare activity materials, set up spaces, and clean up after programs.
• Create a welcoming, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for residents.
• Support special events, birthday celebrations, and seasonal programs.
• Encourage social interaction to reduce isolation among residents.
• Communicate residents' interests and concerns to the Activities Director.
• Maintain activity calendars, attendance records, and related documentation.
• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines.
• Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.
