Job summary

Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Activities Aide to plan and lead engaging activities for residents. You will work closely with the Activities Director to create meaningful programs that promote social interaction and well-being.

This role emphasizes creativity, empathy, and teamwork in a supportive, patient-centered environment, with opportunities to contribute to a variety of events and daily activities.

Qualifications

Now Hiring: Part-Time Activities Aide

Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Part-Time Activities Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with older adults and helping create meaningful, engaging experiences that enhance residents' quality of life.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with people, planning activities, and making a positive difference in a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational and social activities for residents.




• Lead and support group activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, and holiday celebrations.




• Encourage resident participation in activities based on individual interests, abilities, and preferences.




• Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who may be unable or prefer not to participate in group activities.




• Assist with preparing activity materials, setting up spaces, and cleaning up after programs.




• Help create a welcoming, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for residents.




• Support special events, birthday celebrations, and seasonal programs.




• Encourage social interaction and help reduce feelings of isolation among residents.




• Communicate residents' interests, participation, and concerns to the Activities Director.




• Assist with maintaining activity calendars, attendance records, and related documentation.




• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines.




• Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior care, or a related field preferred.




• Experience working with older adults or in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility is a plus.




• Friendly, patient, creative, and enthusiastic personality.




• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.




• Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.




• Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team.




• Ability to assist with activity setup and perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
