Job summary

Fairlane Gardens Nursing and Rehab is seeking an Activities Assistant to enhance the emotional, recreational, and social well-being of residents at our Reading, PA facility. The role supports planned activities, assists with daily tasks, and helps maintain a welcoming, engaging environment under the direction of the Director of Activities.

Part-time or full-time shifts are available, including every other weekend and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience working in long-term care or with elderly or disabled individuals is desirable.
• Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support residents in meeting their recreational and social needs through planned activities.
• Assist residents with everyday tasks such as writing letters, making phone calls, or registering to vote.
• Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and activity attendance.
• Help with tasks such as delivering mail, escorting residents to programs, and maintaining plants, pets, or fish within the facility.
• Organize and assist in activities that provide entertainment, relaxation, and creative expression.
• Supply craft materials and supervise residents during craft or art activities to encourage participation.
