Job summary

GU Energy Labs, based in Berkeley, CA, seeks a Temporary Accounting Specialist for 20-25 hours weekly on-site. You will support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable while assisting with monthly close and finance projects.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in AR/AP, solid Excel skills, and familiarity with BC365. You’ll collaborate with Sales and Customer Support to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate deposits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of AR/AP experience; customer/sales support preferred
• Knowledge of basic accounting concepts; some college accounting coursework or equivalent preferred
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong 10-key, communication, and project management skills
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
• Experience with MS BC365 accounting software is a plus
• Ability to research accounting issues and ask questions when needed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Post daily AR invoicing through BC365, SPS, and vendor portals
• Post and deposit all AR, including lockbox, ACH, wire, PayPal and other receivables; close daily credit card settlement batch
• Reconcile customer accounts with Sales and Customer Support; apply deposits and credits
• Produce weekly aging receivables reports highlighting problem accounts and issues
• Process and send monthly statements of accounts
• Post entry of SG&A expenses; manage vendor set-up and related tasks
• Perform ad hoc duties and responsibilities as needed
• Assist with company reports and additional finance project work
