APEX Companies seeks an ambitious Accounting Intern for a three‑month, part‑time assignment in Oak Brook, IL. This role supports day‑to‑day accounting operations and month‑end close, reporting to a Senior Accountant, with in‑office one day per week and remote hours the rest.

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, have strong US‑GAAP knowledge, proficiency in Excel, and be detail‑oriented and reliable in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of US-GAAP and external audit requirements.
• Experience in Microsoft Business Central is ideal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Excellent communication skills to work alongside a high-performing team.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Support bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
• Assisting the team with various month-end close duties
