Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking an Accounting Intern for a fully remote 3-month assignment. Location is limited to Texas, Indiana, Missouri, or New Mexico, with equipment provided and potential for full-time hire after the internship.

The role reports to the Accounting Manager and emphasizes assisting with financial statements, audit schedules, and bank reconciliations, while developing journal entries and reports.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a BA/BS in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel and accounting databases.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle confidential information.
• Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work additional hours and on special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements.
• Develop audit schedules and update financial information monthly.
• Reconcile bank accounts and related general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries for the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• Maintain account balances and reconcile differences with external sources.
• Assist in developing reports including financial analysis and depreciation.
• Other duties as assigned.
