Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Finance/Accounting/Tax Intern for our Northbrook, IL or Chicago, IL offices. The role is hybrid (3 days on-site) and covers FP&A, Tax, Accounting, Sourcing, and Shared Services.

You will work on variances, budgets, and financial reports within a 10-12 week program designed to develop practical finance skills. You will gain exposure to multiple finance functions, collaborate with senior leaders, and participate in intern-specific events.

Qualifications

• Rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or similar area.
• Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and interpret information from diverse sources.
• Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals through education or internship experience.
• Experience using MS Office and ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Extract data from financial systems and perform analyses to explain variances or support business cases.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes.
• Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries; collect, analyze and summarize account trends.
• Research impact of changes in accounting standards or company strategies.
• Support shared service processes including credit, billing, collections, cash applications and accounts payable.
• Contribute to due diligence and integration for acquisitions; help build business cases to improve ROI.
• Assist project managers in developing business cases and ROI when investing in capital.
