Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for the Norfolk marine terminal. You will provide customer service to visitors and employees, verify credentials, monitor access points, and maintain a secure environment across shifts.

The role offers flexible scheduling with a pay rate of $18.80 per hour. Ideal candidates have security experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work 18+ years old; background checks and drug screening apply.

Qualifications

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, contractors, and employees by following security procedures and policies.
• Monitor and control access to the marine terminal by verifying identification and authorization.
• Maintain accurate access logs and communicate entry/exit information per procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and report security concerns promptly.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points and facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
