Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer Access Desk in Suffolk, VA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access, and provide exceptional customer service at a food and beverage distribution location.

This role offers a flexible part-time schedule and opportunities to earn more through shift-based assignments. The position requires at least one year of security-related experience, familiarity with access control and badge systems, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks and drug screening required by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a food and beverage distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Control access to the facility by verifying credentials, monitoring entry/exit activity, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized personnel and deliveries to designated areas.
• Monitor access points, gates, and surveillance systems; report unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, damaged barriers, and other security-related concerns per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, warehouse areas, parking areas, loading docks, and the facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
