Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, invites you to join a dynamic team in Suffolk, VA. As a Part-Time Security Officer at an Access Desk, you’ll help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor visitors, and deliver courteous service.

This role offers flexible Saturday and Sunday overnight shifts, a supportive work environment, and access to our Shift-Claim platform to build a custom schedule.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a food and beverage distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Control access to the facility by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit activity, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized personnel and deliveries to designated areas.
• Monitor access points, gates, and surveillance systems; report unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, damaged barriers, and other security-related concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, warehouse areas, parking areas, loading docks, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
