Job summary

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for an Academic Tutor in the Writing and Study Skills Center. Tutors provide one-on-one or small group sessions focusing on writing, reading, study skills, and student success strategies, either in person or online.

Reporting to the WSSC Program Manager, this 80% FTE, part-time role may require evening hours and some weekends; a hybrid schedule with two remote days in summer is available, with residence in the Cincinnati

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English or related discipline required.
• One year of teaching or tutoring experience required OR one year of relevant professional experience.
• Willingness to be trained in writing, study skills, and ESL tutoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, tailored tutoring in writing and study skills.
• Guide students who need extra help with designated course work.
• Collaborate with faculty to provide supplemental instruction.
• Help students develop study plans and strategies.
• Participate in staff professional development.
