Job summary

ACU in Glendale, AZ is seeking Academic teaching assistants (TAs) to support professors with grading and administrative duties in their classes. TAs may attend class sessions, tutor students, and assist with grading while maintaining student confidentiality under FERPA.

The role requires a commitment to ACU's Christian mission and involves mentorship and discipleship as part of daily responsibilities. TAs must be enrolled students and available for up to ten hours weekly.

Qualifications

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ as well as a commitment to ACU's Statement of Faith and Core values.
• Must be currently enrolled as a student at ACU.
• Have received an A in a course taught by the professor you are assisting.
• Possess good interpersonal communication skills.
• Available to work up to ten hours per week.
• Current student of ACU in good standing - SAP.
• Must demonstrate financial need.

Responsibilities

• Attend all class meetings as required by professor.
• Provide subject-specific expertise to students enrolled in the course(s) for which you TA.
• Work in Canvas, Populi, and other class-related platforms.
• Recognize the different learning styles and student preferences.
• Help professors with grading and administrative duties as assigned.
• Follow FERPA policies and keep student grades and academic progress confidential.
• Be direct and kind with students and possess good interpersonal communication skills.
