Job summary

ACU invites an adjunct instructor to teach Psychology courses at our Glendale, AZ campus. The instructor will prepare and deliver syllabi, lectures, and course materials, while maintaining attendance records and supporting the Christian mission of the university.

Responsibilities include supervising students in class and lab settings, developing syllabi, evaluating coursework, grading exams, and offering mentorship and spiritual support as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Psychology with emphasis in related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching in a higher education setting.
• Experience with integrating technology into coursework and diverse instructional delivery.

General Job Brief

Instructor will teach courses in Psychology. Instructors are responsible for preparation and delivery of all course materials including the syllabus, lecture and other course delivery preparation, and keeping attendance records. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.

Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities

• Supervision and instruction of students in classroom and/or lab settings

Prerequisite Qualifications

• Must possess a master's or Ph.D. degree with an emphasis in Psychology, Counseling, and or Sports Psychology.
• At least 2 years of experience in teaching in a higher education setting.
• Experience with various instructional delivery systems including integration of technology into coursework.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and oral presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Evidence of Christian commitment with interest in and ability to integrate faith and learning.
