Job summary

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a Part Time Adult Education ABE Instructor to deliver classroom instruction at the Catoosa County/ Shirley Smith Learning Center. The role requires travel to other campuses to meet operational needs and reports to the Director of Instruction.

The position typically runs Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 1 PM, with hours and funding contingent on enrollment and funding. Candidates must have a related Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and prior teaching experience.
• Master’s degree preferred and prior experience teaching basic academic skills to adult learners.
• Part-time position; no benefits available.
• In-person teaching at Catoosa County/Shirley Smith Learning Center; may travel to other campuses during operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans aligned to CCRS standards and develop instructional materials.
• Provide learner guidance and monitor progress toward goals.
• Evaluate student progress and attainment of objectives.
• Promote the adult education program to external partners and communities.
• Maintain registration documentation and administrative reports.
• Plan and participate in staff development and team meetings.
• Maintain a secure, orderly classroom and supervise volunteers where applicable.
• Assist with registration, recruitment and job placement efforts.
