Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an Adult Basic Education Teacher for a part‑time, 10‑month position. Instruction will take place at Anoka Technical College, Anoka Ramsey Community College, and online, with some evening sessions possible.

The role involves direct instruction, collaboration with instructors, and ongoing assessment using technology and state standards. The candidate must hold a MN teaching or ABE license, demonstrate strong communication and organization, and be able to work onsite in a busy

• Current MN Teaching License or ABE license.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Computer skills required.
• Must be physically working in the building/onsite.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to adults in developmental-level math courses at ATC and ARCC.
• Collaborate with college instructors to support students in class, separate support sessions, and through online learning platforms.
• Lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance, attending staff meetings, collaborating with other staff, and keeping student records.
• Utilize cooperative teaching strategies during instruction, integrate technology into learning, and implement the CCRS/ACES/NorthStar standards (training available).
• Other duties as assigned.
