Job summary

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a Part Time Adult Education ABE Instructor for the Gordon County Campus, with travel to other campuses as needed. Classes run Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Reports to Lead Instructor and works in-person.

Responsibilities include lesson planning aligned to CCRS standards, guiding learners, assessing progress, and coordinating with community partners to promote the program. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and prior teaching and classroom management experience.
• Master’s degree preferred and prior experience teaching basic academic skills to adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Prepares lesson plans aligned to CCRS standards and instructional materials for classroom use.
• Provides learner guidance to students.
• Evaluates students’ progress and performance toward goals.
• Promotes the adult education program to public/private organizations.
• Prepares and maintains required registration documentation and reports.
• Plans and participates in staff development and team conferences.
• Maintains a secure classroom environment.
• Recruits and supervises classroom volunteers where applicable.
• Assists with registration, recruitment and job placement efforts.
