Job summary

UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is seeking a Fayette County 4-H Program Assistant (PT) to deliver 4‑H educational programming for 5th–12th grade youth in the Atlanta area. The role involves both indoor and outdoor activities, with weekend events and travel as required.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typing, filing, Windows and MS Office skills.
• Experience leading youth programs and using social media.
• Strong organizational skills and discretion with confidential information.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Willingness to travel for Extension events.

Responsibilities

• Lead 5th–8th grade 4‑H in-classroom meetings and 9th–12th grade meetings.
• Assist with project achievement and weekend events.
• Coordinate community service projects.
• Publicize events using local media and county website.
• Submit reports to Georgia Counts and 4‑H offices.
• Recruit and train volunteers.
• Identify and recruit 9‑18 year olds for 4‑H programs.
