Job summary

The Florida Commission on Offender Review in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Commission Investigator – CS to conduct violation hearings, interview inmates, and perform clemency investigations to inform cases for the Board.

The role involves reviewing prison files, coordinating hearings, and producing written recommendations; background checks and integrity required. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree preferred, or substitute by experience, with strong analytical and interviewing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Criminal Justice experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree.
• Four years or more of equivalent experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Conduct violation hearings and recommend decisions to the Florida Commission on Offender Review.
• Check inmate populations in Florida county jails to confirm detainment status for violations.
• Conduct comprehensive confidential clemency investigations for the Board of Executive Clemency.
• Perform interviews and investigations with inmates eligible for parole consideration and prepare recommended release plans.
