Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking a Parks Utility Worker II to support Park Operations in the Southwest district. This full-time, benefitted role performs a wide range of park maintenance duties and may lead less experienced staff.

Expect a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional weekends for events and snow response. Ideal candidates have a well-rounded parks maintenance background, leadership ability, and commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: None
• Experience: One (1) year of unskilled labor work
• Education/Experience equivalency may substitute minimum experience
• Requires a valid Driver's License at application and keep current

Responsibilities

• Lead less experienced workers and model proper work skills
• Perform a wide range of park maintenance duties outdoors
• Support district park operations and coordinate special projects or events
• Assist with turf, irrigation, planting, pruning, and general landscaping
• Assist with infrastructure work such as fencing, asphalt, concrete, trails, erosion control
• Coordinate with other park staff and specialists as needed
• Oversee snow removal operations and related tasks
• Handle trash, bathroom upkeep and graffiti removal as required
