Job summary

The City of Arvada is seeking a Parks Worker II to maintain parks and athletic facilities and to help manage athletic fields for multiple user groups. The role requires hands-on turf care, irrigation operation, and equipment handling in all four seasons.

Weekend support and early morning schedules are common, with winter and spring/summer/fall shifts posted. A strong eye for safety, detail, and teamwork will help maintain top-quality parks for the community.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance and turf management.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings as required.
• Knowledge of athletic field standards and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Mow, irrigate, fertilize, aerate, top dress turf and maintain parks.
• Operate and service park equipment (mowers, snowplows, tractors).
• Prepare athletic fields for baseball/softball/soccer/football/lacrosse events.
• Assist with snow removal and weather-related maintenance.
• Program and monitor irrigation systems, including scheduling and repairs.
• Supervise seasonal staff and volunteers during events.
