Job summary

The City of Arvada is seeking a Parks Worker II to maintain parks, athletic fields, and facilities, including grounds keeping, irrigation, and equipment operation. The role supports weekend events and year-round maintenance to ensure safe, attractive outdoor spaces for the community.

This position requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. A valid driver’s license and routine equipment use are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in park maintenance and turf management.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic equipment operation.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings for events.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turf, shrubs, and park amenities; perform irrigation scheduling and repairs.
• Assist in athletic field setup, lines, drag, and field maintenance for various sports.
• Operate and troubleshoot park maintenance equipment; ensure safety of workers and public.
• Prepare parks for special events and support winter operations when needed.
