Job summary

City of Fort Collins is seeking a Technician I, Parks to support operation and maintenance of city parks, golf courses and public spaces. The role includes irrigation, equipment operation, and seasonal scheduling while coordinating with staff and volunteers.

Minimum two years in parks/gardens with a high school diploma or GED; CDL licensing within 12 months is required, with background checks and medical tests per City policy. This on-site role offers full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years related experience in parks, golf course maintenance, cemetery landscape, horticulture, or farming.
• Ability to operate and repair equipment and follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain city parks, golf courses, cemeteries, trails and related facilities.
• Clean and repair grounds, restrooms, facilities and equipment.
• Maintain turf and landscape areas; test and repair irrigation features.
• Provide direction to hourly and contractual staff and coordinate with volunteers.
• Support special events, rentals and projects as needed.
• Follow safety rules and adapt to flexible work hours including weekends.
