Job summary

Oakland County Parks in Wixom, MI is hiring a Golf Course Grounds Worker to help keep Lyon Oaks Golf Course in top condition. The role is seasonal and limited to 1,000 hours per year, with outdoor duties and routine groundskeeping tasks performed using mowers, tractors and related equipment.

The position supports higher level staff, performs basic maintenance, handles customer inquiries, and may cover other part-time staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old or have the State requirements for a GED/certificate; may require 18+ for certain duties.
• Must possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.
• Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain parks and related facilities outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Operate groundskeeping equipment such as mowers and other maintenance vehicles.
• Assist higher level staff with general maintenance and operations of Lyon Oaks Golf Course.
• Move equipment and prepare facilities for public use and rentals.
• Perform duties of other part-time seasonal employees as needed to meet staffing requirements.
• Adhere to proper work procedures and safety practices.
