Job summary

State of Nebraska, Ponca, seeks a Parks Superintendent II to lead the Ponca State Park Leadership Team and oversee park grounds, facilities, and staff. You will manage operations, safety, and visitor services while coordinating with community stakeholders.

The role emphasizes park management expertise, supervisory experience, and a commitment to Nebraska’s outdoor recreation and natural resources. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in park management or related field preferred with two years of related experience.
• One year of supervisory or lead worker experience is required.
• Experience in park management or related field may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, preservation, and safe operations of park grounds, facilities, and equipment.
• Hire, train, and supervise full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff; manage schedules and performance.
• Maintain trails, roads, campgrounds, and visitor-use areas; ensure safety and compliance.
• Coordinate chemical applications following safety and environmental regulations.
• Collect data, prepare reports, and communicate with the community and visitors.
