Are you someone who has proven leadership skills and experience in a wide variety of skilled trades, leading complex maintenance projects, and coordination of efforts across teams? If so, this may be the perfect position for you! In this role, you will provide expert level guidance to maintenance staff, and hands-on maintenance support alongside a team of trades/maintenance staff (3). Through your work and leadership, you will have the opportunity to help shape the long-term vision and strategy for the overall Planned Maintenance Program.
Your Future in this Role:
The core of this position is collaboration, coordination, leadership, and hands-on trades-based maintenance project support in alignment with our overall Department Vision of "a county of healthy people living happy lives". To support this vision, you will actively lead your team of three (3) other Planned Maintenance Technician 4’s, while also being hands-on when time, schedule, and availability permits. In this role you will manage the program’s overall budget (including reporting), administrative coordination, and ensure projects are working through proper and required legal/permitting/purchasing processes. You may also present project updates, plans, and new proposals at various committee/sub-committee meetings.
How to be Successful in the Role:
You will need to bring your knowledge and experience of program management in a construction/trades-based/facility maintenance setting (preferably within government), as well as your hands-on experience in the skilled trades. Your strength as a leader and the ability to collaborate and communicate across teams, while keeping projects on track and following all compliance and regulatory measures, will guide your success in this role. Additionally, having experience in managing and monitoring budgets will be critical.
