The Recreation Services Manager (Executive Director of Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation) will qualify to receive a supplemental salary package from the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation based on professional background and achievement. The salary figures listed above represent the total combined compensation.

The Recreation Services Manager (Executive Director of Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation) is responsible for the development, management, administration, and execution of programs under the direction of the SCMAF Board of Directors. SCMAF is an organization of recreation professionals representing various local government and industry sectors, organized into five regional associations. Its mission is to promote sports training and competition, physical fitness, and lifelong skills across all ages and abilities.
This role also involves serving on the Department of Parks and Recreation Sports Committee and acting as secretary for the non-profit A Better Life Through Sports Foundation.

Oversee planning and management of SCMAF programs; coordinate committees and ensure effective execution.
Manage administrative and fiscal operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, fundraising, sponsorship, sports equipment sales, and public relations.
Develop and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including the Board, members, donors, sponsors, volunteers, community groups, media, and the County Department of Parks and Recreation.
Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and goals; oversee staff recruitment, review, and evaluation.
Create promotional and marketing strategies for programs and services.
Administer insurance programs, including budgeting and promoting participation.
Organize guest speakers, trainers, and training sites; review contracts.
Write and submit grant proposals.
Travel regionally to promote programs and support local associations and committees.

Training & Experience evaluation based on application details, worth 100% of the score. The passing score is 70%.
Passed candidates are placed on a list for 12 months. No person may reapply more than once every 12 months.
The eligible list will fill one vacancy at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, CA.
