Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Parks and Recreation Supervisor to manage Waterford Oaks and Pontiac Oaks County Parks, including trails, rental spaces and other facilities. You will oversee operations, supervise staff, and ensure safe, high-quality public services.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related field or six years of park management experience with a GED; valid driver’s license and pesticide certification if assigned to golf. County benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation, Natural Resources, Forestry, Horticulture, Business Administration or related field.
• Two (2) years of full-time work experience in park or recreation facility management serving the public; or six (6) years if no degree.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience. Valid US driver's license; MI certification if Golf Courses.
• Posess ability to obtain required pesticide certification if assigned to Golf Courses; pass employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Provides financial reports and budget recommendations for Parks and Recreation Administration.
• Supervises staff, schedules shifts, and evaluates performance.
• Maintains park facilities, safety, and public relations; coordinates events and use by the public.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation, Natural Resources, Forestry, Horticulture, Business Administration or related field
