Job summary

City of Waxahachie is seeking a dedicated building custodian to perform comprehensive cleaning and maintenance across city parks and facilities. The role includes restroom sanitation, inventorying supplies, basic equipment upkeep, and reporting repair needs to supervisors.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred custodial experience and availability for night, weekend, and holiday shifts. A valid driver’s license is required to operate city vehicles.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Monitors and maintains Parks & Recreation facilities by cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and floors; dusting; collecting litter; and emptying trash.
Stock restrooms with necessary supplies and maintain inventory of products.
Performs basic maintenance on equipment by installing light bulbs; fixing toilets; changing air conditioner filters; and assembling furniture and equipment.
Identify any maintenance or repair needs at City Parks & Facilities and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
Performs other duties as assigned.
