Job summary

Horry County Parks & Recreation is seeking a dedicated grounds maintenance worker to care for park facilities, athletic fields, trails and grounds. The role includes custodial duties, flower beds, and routine landscape tasks to keep parks safe and attractive for the community.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a SC/NC driver’s license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment physical and background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• South Carolina or North Carolina driver’s license.
• Able to pass pre-employment physical and background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds including athletic fields, boat landings, trails and other facilities.
• Perform routine custodial services in Recreation buildings (sweeping, mopping, dusting, restrooms).
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides; mix chemicals and keep records.
