City of Little Rock is seeking a leader to oversee the Design and Operations and Improvement Development Divisions within the Parks and Recreation Department, guiding park projects from concept through construction to completion. The role focuses on aligning development with park master plans and ensuring projects are environmentally, aesthetically, and economically feasible for the city.

JOB OBJECTIVE: To oversee and manage the day-to-day activities and operations of the Design and Operations and Improvement Development Divisions of the Department of the Parks and Recreation, to include the construction, operation and development of park improvement projects to ensure the development is in compliance with the park master plans and the design and construction of the parks and facilities are environmentally, aesthetically and economically feasible within the City of Little Rock.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Landscape Design, or a related field; four (4) years of experience in General Construction, Engineering Design, Architecture Design, or Parks Design to include two (2) years of demonstrated project/construction management experience, or a related area, and two (2) years of supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
