Job summary

Fort Bend County's Parks Department is seeking a Parks Operator II to maintain county parks, mow grass, spray weeds, repair signs and equipment, and operate vehicles and heavy equipment as needed.

The role includes driving a bus for special events, performing basic repairs, supporting emergency management during disasters, and contributing to a safe, well-maintained community space with timely, reliable work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions; good verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, cuts and sprays weeds on county property.
• Repairs and replaces park signs and park equipment.
• Performs minor repairs to park vehicles.
• Operates heavy equipment as needed.
• Drives bus to and from special events to transport participants.
• Repairs and replaces park fencing and performs concrete work.
• Held financially responsible for equipment used and uniforms issued.
• Participates in emergency management duties during local disasters as directed.
