Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Grounds Maintenance worker to mow grass, trim weeds, repair park signs and equipment, and perform minor vehicle repairs in county facilities. You will operate heavy equipment as needed and transport participants by bus to events.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years related experience, good communication, and the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of job-related experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions and operate required equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, cuts and sprays weeds on county property.
• Repairs and replaces park signs and park equipment.
• Performs minor repairs to park vehicles.
• Operates heavy equipment as needed.
• Drives bus to and from special events to transport participants.
• Repairs and replaces park fencing and performs concrete work.
• Held financially responsible for equipment used and uniforms issued.
• Participates in emergency management duties during local disasters as directed by county managers.
