Job summary

City of Phoenix’s Parks and Recreation Department seeks a Parks Supervisor to lead supervisory staff responsible for maintenance of city parks, mountain preserves, landscapes, and facilities. This role coordinates with divisions to support major projects and oversees budgets, procurement, and compliance.

Ideal candidates will have five+ years of supervisory experience in parks maintenance, strong communication and data-driven decision skills, and the ability to foster a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Five years of supervisory experience in parks maintenance, including three years as second-line supervisor.
• Background check and fingerprinting required for finalists.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a City vehicle on City business.

Responsibilities

• Direct and prioritize the work of supervisory staff responsible for parks, trails, and facilities.
• Coordinate with other divisions to support major maintenance projects and recreation activities.
• Participate in budget development, capital improvements, and procurement processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulations related to land, water, and air; conduct inspections for quality.
