Job summary

Brevard County is seeking an experienced maintenance worker to perform routine maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and mechanical equipment for Parks and Recreation. The position requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a starting rate of $18.21 hourly.

Central Area and on-site work are involved. Two years of relevant experience are required; further education or experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in grounds maintenance, building maintenance, and mechanical or equipment repair and maintenance. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
• This position is part of an established career ladder.

Responsibilities

• Performs experienced service maintenance work in the routine maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and/or mechanical equipment for Parks and Recreation.
• Employees may assist skilled crafts and trades workers and may direct the work of Parks Maintenance Technicians.
• Work differs from that of skilled crafts and trades workers in that it is not exclusively in one crafts or trades area and it is not at the skilled level.
