Job summary

Carroll County Government is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Community Parks at Hashawha Environmental Center. You will maintain and repair 27 park sites, operate equipment, perform grounds and facility upkeep, and provide janitorial services to keep parks safe and inviting for visitors.

You will report to the Park Maintenance Foreman, Community Parks. Must have a high school diploma or GED and 1+ year of related experience; DOT card and valid license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years of related experience.
• Comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a full range of construction and grounds equipment.
• Perform grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, tree work, trail repairs, and landscaping.
• Complete skilled construction and renovation projects of park amenities and structures; basic electrical and plumbing maintenance.
• Perform janitorial services including restroom and facility cleaning and trash removal.
• Assist with event setup and tear-down; staff special events as needed.
• Assist in invasive species control; assist with snow removal and security operations.
