Job summary

The City of Campbell is seeking an experienced Park Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all parks, public facilities ground maintenance and street right-of-way landscaping programs. You will plan, organize, supervise and evaluate the Park Maintenance Section, monitor operations, prepare reports and assist in budget preparation.

Candidates should have five years of progressive parks/tree maintenance experience with supervisory duties, and ideally an associate degree in horticulture or landscape

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade; college training in related field is desirable.
• Five years of increasingly responsible parks/tree maintenance experience, at least three in supervision.
• Desirable completion of an associate degree in horticulture, landscape design, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Park Maintenance Section; plans, organizes, assigns, supervises and evaluates work.
• Monitors operations and activities of parks and landscape maintenance.
• Prepares cost estimates and participates in budget preparation.
• Coordinates work with other departments for special events and staff support.
• Administers landscape and janitorial maintenance contracts and monitors performance.
• Supervises and trains staff; evaluates section staff and contractors.
• Responds to public inquiries and investigates complaints with corrective action.
