Job summary

The City of West Melbourne is seeking a Maintenance Worker for Parks & Landscape in the Public Works Department. This full-time role pays an annual salary ranging from $37,525 to $58,162 and may require evenings, weekends, and occasional overtime.

Under supervision, you will perform unskilled labor in parks and facilities, operate landscape equipment, and assist with city events. A valid Florida driver’s license is required, with duties including safety and adherence to park rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to operate mowers, weed eaters, and other landscape equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs mowing, weed eating, landscaping, and similar activities.
• Performs minor building maintenance including lights, painting, pressure washing, and other basic repairs.
• Maintains parks and facilities including restrooms, equipment, and courts.
• Assists in setup for City functions, chairs, tables, equipment, etc.
• Monitors and enforces park rules and regulations to the general public.
• In case of natural disaster, reports to place of duty.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
