Job summary

City of Pompano Beach is seeking a part-time or temporary grounds maintenance worker to care for city parks and related facilities in outdoor settings in Florida. The role involves independent or crew-based work, weather exposure, and potential weekend shifts.

Tasks include landscaping, custodial duties, and general park support under supervision. Ideal candidates have some manual labor or landscaping experience and possess a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Some experience in manual labor, maintenance, and/or construction work is desired.
• Previous experience in lawn and landscaping maintenance is preferred.
• Experience operating mowers, edgers, and string trimmers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general grounds maintenance tasks such as trimming foliage, raking, weeding, and trash collection.
• Plants trees, flowers, and shrubs and assists with watering and soil prep for new plantings.
• Operates lawn maintenance equipment on a limited basis (mowers, edgers, string trimmers).
• Performs custodial duties in park facilities and keeps public areas clean and orderly.
