Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for a Parks Aide – Part Time 19 at C.B. Smith Park. This role performs park maintenance and program support under supervision, assisting skilled staff as needed.

This position requires a six-month background in grounds and facility maintenance or related areas, and a valid Florida Class E driver’s license. A flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires six (6) months in general grounds and facility maintenance, customer service, recreational activities, and/or a point of sale system based on area of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with the public and County employees to provide directions or information and resolve day-to-day operational issues; collects fees and operates a cash register or POS software.
• Maintains landscape and related equipment to ensure safe operation and minimize downtime.
• Inspects park facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for the public and staff.
• Sets up and takes down temporary facilities, traffic control devices for events to ensure safe traffic flow.
• Prepares log sheets to document work activities and equipment usage.
• Picks up and delivers items to ensure supplies are available where needed.
