Job summary

The Town of Summerville is hiring a Ground Maintenance Technician to care for parks, playgrounds, and related facilities, performing mowing, edging, mulching, litter control and painting when needed.

Responsibilities include operating lawn equipment, maintaining irrigation systems, and assisting with playground upkeep while working under supervision in a full-time role that serves the community. A valid SC driver’s license and safety-minded approach are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 9–12 months of practical training/experience in lawn maintenance.
• Must possess valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains weed control by weed eating and cutting grass.
• Edges sidewalks throughout the Town.
• Places mulch and/or pine straw around foliage.
• Rakes leaves and clears sidewalks using a blower.
• Installs and maintains playground equipment and irrigation systems.
